Cooking

So this morning, whilst we slept, my daughters decided to bake a peach cake. They got out eggs and 'flour' and a 'peach'. They cracked the eggs and threw away the shells; cut the 'peach' and mixed it all together with the 'flour'. They then put in all in a medium sized pot (which has a plastic handle) and put it in the oven! They even turned the oven on!

Fortunately, i woke up only a minute or two after they put it in the oven! I rescued the pot before it got hot enuf to melt the plastic, but had already started to bake thier cake! Turns out the 'flour' was Marie Calendar's Cornbread mix and the 'peach' was a grapefruit. Yoik. Thank goodness, I found it before the pan caught fire.

I wanted to yell at them for doing this, but it was so ingenius that they had come up with this all themselves. In fact, if it had really been flour, and really been peaches and they hadn't gotten egg shell in it, their cake may have been edible! I, of course, gave them a stern warning about using the oven and told them they could have caught it on fire and burned the apartment down, but I just couldn't bring myself to really punish them, per se.
